JUST IN: President Buhari Appoints Service Chiefs

In his bid to revamp security architecture in the country, President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed new service chiefs after the voluntary resignations and retirement of the outgoing top echelons of Nigeria’s security agencies.

The announcement was made via the verified Twitter account of the President.

According to the tweet, “PMB appoints new Service Chiefs. Maj Gen LEO Irabor, Chief of Denfence Staff; Maj Gen I Attahiru, Chief of Army Staff; Rear Adm AZ Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff; AVM IO Amao, Chief of Air Force.

“I have accepted the immediate resignation of the Service Chiefs, and their retirement from service. I thank them all for their overwhelming achievements in our efforts at bringing enduring peace to Nigeria, and wish them well in their future endeavours”.
