One of the most celebrated women in Nigeria Army, Rtd. Col. Chief Mrs. Nike Akerele has lost her husband, Assist. Superintendent Joseph Abayomi Akerele.
Akerele, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of JOE-Yomi Maritime Services and founder of Celestial Church of Christ, Navy Parish, Lagos died on Sunday, 6th of June at his Lagos residence after a brief illness at the age of 80 years.
According to a source in the family, Wake Keep and Service of Songs will come up on Thursday, 17th of June at CCC, Navy Town Parish, Ijegun-Imore, Satelite Town, Lagos. The burial service has been scheduled to hold on 18th of June at the same venue in which internment will follow at Nigerian Army Cemetary, Ojo Cantonment, Lagos while the reception will take place at Nigerian Navy underwater warfare Schoole, Navy town, Lagos.
Recall that Rtd. Colonel Chief Mrs. Nike Akerele was the first woman from Oyo State to have attained the the highest rank of Conel in Nigerian Army.
