Onido confers chieftaincy title on Accord senatorial candidate, Kola-Daisi

Supporters of Mr. Idris Kolapo Kola-Daisi, as well as members of the Ido community, were ecstatic yesterday at the palace of the Onido of Ido land, when the king, Oba Muritala Babalola, bestowed a chieftaincy title on the Accord’s senatorial candidate for Oyo South.

While giving his response to a presentation made by Mr. Kola-Daisi, where the senatorial frontrunner had listed his plans for the district when elected to office, Oba Babalola declared that the young son of the Bashorun of Ibadan will be conferred as the Otun Bobajiroro of Ido land, to which the crowd gathered at the palace reacted with rapturous joy.

“I have listened to you clearly, and our people too have heard your plans. I must say I am impressed by your intentions and plans to implement them. May your intentions for Ido and Oyo South align with Allah’s will and may them be granted”, Oba Babalola noted.

He added: “Inshallah, come the 26th of December, I will confer you with the title, Otun Bobajiroro of Ido land. A màa já ewé oyè yìí lé e lórí. It is a title befitting of your desires and intentions for community development and true empowerment of the people. I’m impressed, I’m really impressed, especially by your thoughts and plans for the youths.”

This title is the latest one conferred on the Accord senatorial candidate, following the recent treble of titles he received in Ibarapa land. “Otun Bobajiroro” means the one who advises and reasons together with the King.
