Oyo State Government has officially welcomed the 2024 Batch C Stream 2 Corps Members deployed to the state with Governor Seyi Makinde and other top dignitaries in attendance.
The swearing-in ceremony, which took place at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Iseyin, marked the beginning of a three-week orientation program for the Corps Members.
In his address, Governor Oluwaseyi Makinde who was ablely represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sport Miss Wasilat Adegoke, congratulated the Corps Members on their successful completion of their academic pursuits and encouraged them to approach their service year with a sense of responsibility, commitment, and selflessness.
The Governor also assured the Corps Members of the state’s commitment to their welfare and security, saying that Oyo State is a land of hospitality, culture, and opportunity.
The NYSC Coordinator in Oyo State Chief ODOBA ABEL OCHE also welcomed the Corps Members, urging them to participate actively in all camp activities, obey instructions, and adhere strictly to the rules and regulations.
The orientation program is designed to equip the Corps Members with valuable skills for life after their service year, including leadership training, paramilitary drills, and social activities.
With the swearing-in ceremony, the Corps Members have officially begun their one-year mandatory national service, and are expected to contribute meaningfully to the development of Oyo State.
