Organisers of the Okanlomo Oodua National Security Summit have announced the postponement of the summit.
They said the postponement became necessary to allow for proper logistic arrangements.
Recall that the summit was initially scheduled to hold on February 12th – 14th at Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort in Ibadan, Oyo State.
A statement by Okanlomo Oodua himself, Engr. Chief Dotun Sanusi, who is the Chief Host and Mogaji Dr. Nurudeen Akinade, Coordinator of Ibadan Compound Peace Initiative (ICPI), on behalf of the committee said a new date will be communicated later.
According to the duo, the postponement is to ensure that the event is well-organized and effective in addressing security challenges.
The Okanlomo Oodua National Security Summit aims to bring together stakeholders to discuss security issues and find lasting solutions.
Chief Engr. Dotun Sanusi, who is also a prominent Philanthropist and important figure in Ibadan, Oyo State and Nigeria has been involved in various initiatives to promote peace and security in the region.
The Okanlomo Oodua title was conferred on him by the Arole Oodua, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR Ojaja II in the presence of Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Sen Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja FNSE Arusa 1 and other notable Kabiyesis along with several distinguished Personalities within and outside the Country.
The summit’s postponement has been met with understanding, and stakeholders are expected to be informed of the new date soon.
