…supports his intention to bring development to Ogbomoso
The Ogbomoso Professionals for Development and Unity (OOPDU) on Sunday, threw its weight behind Olufemi Onireti for taking a wise decision to resign from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), a development that was described as ‘long overdue’.
This group saw Onireti’s decision as a strategic step to concentrate more on promoting unity and development in Ogbomoso.
According to Dr. Segun Olanrewaju, the Chairman of the group, OOPDU’s statement is a testament to the organization’s support for Onireti’s vision of a united and focused Ogbomoso.
“Onireti’s resignation would pave the way for opportunities, ultimately benefiting the people of Ogbomoso.”
OOPDU commends Onireti for taking the lead in promoting Ogbomoso unity and urges other political leaders in the town to follow suit.
The group emphasizes that Ogbomoso’s unity and progress should not be compromised for political gain.
Instead, they advocate for equal justice and policies that benefit the people of Ogbomoso.
“No matter what anybody may think about the gentleman’s decision to resign from PDP, it is a commendable action to see how he can garner support to reposition the town as well as the state as a whole.
“His resignation is long overdue due to his immense contributions to PDP and it is an overwhelming response for sure remedy that is needed to secure the growth and development of the land of valiants.
“We affirmed that our development must never be negotiable for any political purposes.
“While congratulating Onireti for this bold step towards efforts and selfless service to humanity, we urge him to look for a credible party and relate with those that matter for robust steps towards addressing our many challenges”, he said.
Onireti has announced his resignation from the PDP in a letter he personally signed and addressed to the Ward Chairman of the party.
