Ahead of the forthcoming primaries of the Allied People’s Movement, the member representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency of Oyo state in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, on Monday appeared before the party’s screening panel as part of preparations for the 2027 general election.

The screening exercise, which took place at the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Secretariat, Oke-Ado, Ibadan, attracted party stakeholders, executives and supporters from both the APM and PDP across Oyo State.

Olajide is seeking to represent Oyo south senatorial district at the senate on the platform of the APM following his recent political re-alignment and formal declaration for the senatorial race.

The screening panel was chaired by the Oyo state chairman of the Allied People’s Movement, Otunba Fagbemi Adegbenro, alongside selected executives and stakeholders drawn from both political platforms.

The exercise, according to party sources, was part of efforts aimed at assessing the preparedness, political orientation, leadership capacity and legislative experience of aspirants seeking to contest various elective positions under the alliance arrangement ahead of the forthcoming elections.

During the exercise, Olajide responded to questions bordering on governance, legislative experience, constituency development, youth empowerment, party loyalty, security, digital economy and his visions for Oyo south senatorial district.

The two-term federal lawmaker equally highlighted some of his achievements at the House of Representatives, particularly in the areas of digital inclusion, youth empowerment, educational support, constituency interventions and legislative contributions at the National Assembly.

Speaking shortly after the screening, Olajide expressed appreciation to the leadership of the party and members of the screening committee for what he described as a transparent, peaceful and democratic exercise.

He reiterated his commitment to responsible leadership, people oriented representation and developmental politics capable of advancing the interests of the people of Oyo south senatorial district.

According to him, the aspiration to represent the district at the senate remains rooted in service, inclusiveness and the desire to expand developmental opportunities across the nine local government areas within the senatorial district.

“I remain committed to the ideals of effective representation, democratic engagement and grassroots development. My aspiration is about service to the people and the collective progress of Oyo south,” he stated.

Olajide further assured party faithfuls and supporters of his readiness to sustain issue based politics and peaceful political engagements throughout the electoral process.
