2027: I Am the Most Experienced Person to Serve Oyo — AA Gubernatorial Candidate, Titilola-Sodo

The Action Alliance (AA) governorship candidate for the 2027 Oyo State election, Comrade Sikiru Bayo Titilola-Sodo, has reaffirmed his commitment to the state’s leadership, declaring that he remains “the most experienced person to serve the state.”

Titilola-Sodo made the statement while speaking on Thursday at the first SuccessFM Ibadan Public Square Town Hall Meeting for 2027 Oyo State Gubernatorial Candidates.

He urged the people of Oyo to elect credible and visionary leaders who are committed to good governance and fulfilling their campaign promises.

According to him, Oyo state’s progress depends on electing leaders with integrity, competence, and a genuine desire to serve the people.

The retired Oyo state civil servant and former labour leader, confirmed his readiness to serve the state.

He emphasized that his aspiration to serve the state was not based on selfish considerations but on competence, experience and capacity to deliver impactful governance.

Titilola-Sodo added that his vision is to reposition and strengthen the state’s internally generated revenue.

The governorship hopeful reflected on his background, pointing out that his long experience to leadership shaped his understanding of governance and public service.

He recounted his achievements in office as Special Adviser on Labour Matters, including facilitating payment of backlogged salaries and pensions in the state and implementation of workers’ programmes aimed at improving their welfare.

The AA candidate also promised greater financial and administrative autonomy for Local Governments, vowing that resources meant for the grassroots would be deployed in ways that directly benefit communities.

He stressed the need for improved road networks, particularly in rural areas, to support agricultural and industrial expansions.

He also noted that his approach to governance has always been rooted in service, adding that many beneficiaries of his past efforts have continued to express appreciation for his impacts.

Titilola-Sodo on leadership and inclusiveness, spoke on advocating for increased opportunities for youth, women and people living with disabilities in governance while emphasizing competence over sentiment.

On security, Titilola-Sodo called for the establishment of state police, saying the measure would strengthen the ability of security agencies to respond to crimes and resolve disputes closer to where they occur.

He vowed to review and revoke the state properties that have been illegally sold out.
