Lateef Fagbemi SAN & Co on Thursday defeated Adebayo & Gbadamosi Legal Practitioners 8-5 to emerge winner of the 2021 edition of the Aare Afe Babalola/Ibadan Premier Bar league.
Emerging as the winner of the 2021 edition, Lateef Fagbemi SAN & Co smiled home with the star prize of N250,000.
Speaking at the event, the deputy Head of Chamber of Aare Afe Babalola & Co, Kelly Ogbe who was also a participant commended other lawyers for engaging in sporting activities despite their very time consuming job.
He described the 2021 edition of the Aare Afe Babalola/Ibadan Premier Bar league as more improved and elaborate tournament.
While assuring of better improvement in the next edition, he urged the participants to be more prepared against the next edition of the Aare Afe Babalola/Ibadan Premier Bar league.
In the remarks of the Head of Lateef Fagbemi SAN & Co, Ibadan branch, Seun Ajayi said the team has made them proud by winning the competition.
“I feel highly elated and proud for what our boys have done tonight.
“We put alot in the preparation for this tournament and I am very happy that it paid up at the end of the day,” he said.
He further stated that the tournament should be taking to another level from 5 aside to complete football team game.
Ajayi who described Aare Afe Babalola as a football lover, expressed satisfaction with the performance of the tournament, and commended the organizers for a job well done.
Meanwhile, Afe Babalola & Co in the match played earlier defeated Bandele Aiku law firm’s team to win the third place spot.
The prize money for the second and third place teams was N150,000 and N100,000 respectively.
