In his bid to support education development in Oyo State, especially in his locality, the Ibadan-born educationist and philanthropist, Dr. Akande Kazeem Babatunde (ATM) in collaboration with the office of the Education Secretary, Ido Local Government, Ido Town, Ibadan, has organised a free tutorial classes for all the students preparing for WAEC, NECO, JAMB/Post -UTME with an Academic scholarship in the six zones in Ido Education Authority.
Akande, who is the Assistant Registrar of ESPAM-Formation University, Benin Republic, and the Founder of Easy-Prevarsity Educational Consult, said a free application form can be obtained at any of the schools or the education secretary office in Ido.
Addressing newsmen in Ibadan, Akande who has facilitated over 1000 scholarships for students in Ido LG and Oyo State to study in Benin Republic stated that his motive as an educationist is to promote quality education at his locality on a comprehensive scale.
He said that “as an educationist we can promote quality education by working to increase access to free teachings, and we are also promoting quality education by raising awareness about the benefits of a good education.”
He stated that the designated six zones are: Omi zone: St. Andrew’s Model Schools, Omi Adio, Ido zone: Ido High School, Ido, Akufo zone: Akufo Community High School, Akufo, Apata zone: Apata Community High School, Logudu Bembo, Apete zone: St. Peters Anglican Primary School, Apete, Ibadan and Idiya zone: Idiya Community Grammar School, Idiya.
Akande however promised to support PDP candidates who emerge in Local Government elections with these scholarships and projects, and also extend the same courtesy to the Oyo State Government.
He is also the peace coordinator for Rotary in Nigeria, Chairman African Institute for Justice of the Peace (AFRIIJP), Founder of Ecolerite Institute of Peace Advancement, and President General Alliance of Yoruba Youth Worldwide (AYYCW). ECOWAS Youth Ambassador and Grand Patron of Agbekoya Farmers Association Oyo State.
Akande who is popularly called ATM by his admirers averred that these associations have similar mission and vision which is to provide lasting peace in our societies and the world at large.
