The Babaloja-General of Oyo State, Alhaji Sumailia Aderemi Jimoh has commended traders in Oyo State for coming together in large number to give befitting burial to the late Iyaloja-General of Oyo State, Alhaja Wuraola Asake Kola-Daisi.
Speaking with journalists on Thursday 22nd October during the burial at the residence of the late Iyaloja-General, beside D’Rovans Hotel, Ring road, Ibadan, Alhaji Jimoh described traders’ reactions as positive and a reflection of the relationship between the late Iyaloja-General and the traders in the state.
“You need not to be told how good mama was during her lifetime or her closeness with all traders in Oyo State, just look at faces and people’s reactions. Even though she was above the recommended age before she departed, yet we are sad that our Mama, an outstanding leader, a solid rock who stood firmly behind us to the point of her death left us without notice,” Babaloja-General lamented.
He, however, commended the traders across the state for given befitting burial to the late Iyaloja-General of Oyo State, and prayed for unity among the traders.
“My people’s reactions, both men and women really gave me great joy, it proved our oneness. I thank all traders, heads of trade unions, the Babalojas and Iyalojas from all the 33 Local Governments, the 5 Zones for turning up positively at the burial of Alhaja Wuraola Asake Kola-Daisi, the late Iyaloja-General of Oyo State. May the Lord continue to strengthen the bond of unity that Oyo State traders have been enjoying over the years,” Babaloja-General prayed.
