The Archbishop-Elect of Ibadan Province and Bishop of Ibadan North Anglican Diocese, Most Rev’d. (Dr.) Williams Oluwarotimi Aladekugbe, has attributed his elevation to the unmerited grace of God.
At a Eucharistic and Thanksgiving service marking his 10th consecration anniversary at the Cathedral of St. Peter’s, Aremo, Ibadan, Aladekugbe expressed gratitude to God for his journey from priesthood to Archdeacon, Dean, Bishop, and now Archbishop-Elect.
“I am happy that God counted me worthy to be elevated to where I am today as a worker in His vineyard,” Aladekugbe said. “From my humble background, God has been merciful to me, lifting me up graciously.”
Aladekugbe also acknowledged the contributions of notable figures in his success story, including former Archbishop Nicholas Okoh, current Archbishop Henry C. Ndukuba, bishops, clergy, laity, and his wife, Engineer Catherine Oluwafunmilayo Aladekugbe.
In his sermon, Venerable (Dr.) Jacob Olusegun Adeloye encouraged Aladekugbe to continue celebrating God’s faithfulness, citing Psalm 146:1-6.
The well-attended service drew Aladekugbe’s family, clergy, laity, friends, and well-wishers.
