All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward Congress Chairman in Oyo State, Alhaji Gambo Lawan, has said that the committee was transparent in the ward congresses held in the state.
Alhaji Gambo disclosed this on Monday while addressing newsmen at the press briefing held at the Oyo State Secretariat of APC in Ibadan, capital of Oyo state.
It should be recalled that APC ward congresses were held across the country on Saturday.
The Chairman noted that there was no official petition against any of the congresses that were conducted.
He added that there was no official report of any parallel congress in the state.
Lawan also maintained that the committee did not receive any petition against the congresses from any member of the party.
He stressed further that available reports submitted to him from all the 351 wards in the state indicated that the congresses were free, fair and credible.
“We were given the mandate by the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja to conduct the ward congress in the state.
“I neither received any petition from anyone, nor report of any parallel congress. All I can say is that, the congress was successful. It was transparent, free, fair and credible.
“I have discharged my duty. I am so happy that the congress was successful and the chairman of the party, Chief Akin Oke, is here to confirm that there was no single petition against the congresses in the state”, he submitted.
