Balogun endorsed as new Olubadan by kingmakers as Ladoja absent

Members of the Olubadan-in-Council have endorsed and approved the nomination of Dr. Lekan Balogun as the new Olubadan of Ibadan land.

Ten out of the eleven members of the council endorsed Balogun’s nomination.

The Osi Balogun of Ibadan land, High Chief Tajudeen Ajibola made this known on Wednesday in a brief remark at the international press conference called by the kingmakers.

The kingmakers debunked insinuations in some quarters that there is a legal tussle on the succession to the Olubadan throne.

According to Ajibola, the Council which is the Kingmakers have met and resolve that Balogun is next in line and would in line with the tradition ascend the throne of Olubadan.

He also debunked insinuations relating to the health and wellness of the new Olubadan-elect, saying all the negative media reports are nothing to worry about.

The meeting is being attended by members of the Olubadan-in-Council except for Ex-governor of Oyo State, Rashidi Ladoja.

Other High Chiefs in attendance at the press conference include Balogun Olubadan, Owolabi Olakulehin; Otun Balogun, Olufemi Olaifa; Ashipa Olubadan, Eddy Oyewole; Osi Balogun, Tajudeen Ajibola; Ekaarun Olubadan, Amidu Ajibade; Ashipa Balogun Olubadan, Lateef Gbadamosi; Ekaarun Balogun, Kola Adegbola; and Ekerin Olubadan Abiodun Kola-Daisi.
