The BCOS Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, has sent a congratulatory message to Mrs. Dotun Olaitan as the Chairperson of the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State.
In a statement issued and signed by the Chairman of BCOS NUJ, Dupe Fehintola the union congratulates Mrs. Olaitan who was a former Secretary of NAWOJ in Oyo state on her historic appointment as the first female Chairperson of BCOS.
BCOS NUJ says it is happy that one of them who is a professional journalist and who had served as a unionist in various capacities both at local and state and national levels has been recognized and appointed to this exalted position of BCOS Chairperson.
The union says against these rich antecedents and the fact that she served as a member on the last board, it believes that Olaitan will bring these immense wealth of experience to bear on the discharge of her duties as BCOS Chairperson.
It also expresses the belief that she will key in to the sustainable accelerated development vision of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde under OMITUNTUN 2.0 by to turn around and transform the state-owned broadcast outfit.
According to the BCOS NUJ, the task ahead is daunting but not insurmountable.
The BCOS NUJ promises to cooperate with the board to restore the Corporation and make it to compete favourably with
leading stations across the country all in an effort to ensure smooth flow of information between the government and the good people of our dear state.
