CELEBRATING 5 YEARS OF RESILIENCE: THE UNITY PROJECT NIGERIA

In January 2019, Jennifer Serrano, a second-generation British Nigerian, launched The Unity Project Nigeria with a mission to promote Nigeria’s rich multi-culture and unite Nigerians.

Despite initial doubts, Jennifer’s determination and capacity proved unstoppable.

The first Unity Festival on October 1, 2019, was a resounding success, showcasing Nigeria’s diverse cultures, kingdoms, and people.

Jennifer’s mission is simple yet powerful: “NIGERIA FIRST.”

She encourages Nigerians to be proud of their culture, preserve their heritage and embrace their indigenous accent.

The Unity Project Nigeria operates under the umbrella of the Jennifer Serrano Peace & Unity Foundation, which advocates for peace and national cohesion through conferences, seminars, school outreaches, media campaigns and unity festivals.

Notable Nigerians who have identified with The Unity Project Nigeria’s remarkable work include, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Emir of Zauzau, HRH Alh. Held annually in various cities across Nigeria, including Lagos, Owerri, Kaduna, and Abuja, the festival encourages pride in national identity and supports indigenous businesses.

This year, the festival will be hosted in five cities: Abuja, Yobe, Rivers, Kano and Lagos, allowing more people to experience the richness of Nigerian culture.

The festival will flag off on December 14 in Abuja and culminate in a grand finale on December 26 in Lagos, streaming live on television and online platforms for a global audience.

As The Unity Project Nigeria celebrates five years of resilience, it is a celebration of strength in the power of unity and determination.

Let’s come together to showcase our diversity and promote national cohesion.
