A State High Court sitting in Ibadan on Friday as declared the installation of Alhaji Yekini Abass as the Babaloja-General of Oyo State illegal.
In a 3 hours judgement read by Justice Babatunde K. Olawoyin of the State High Court, Ring Road, Ibadan on Friday, the court faulted the installation of Y. K. Abass by the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji and ruled that installation of market leaders is outside the jurisdiction of any traditional ruler.
The court added that only traders have the right to elect leaders among themselves.
The court therefore ordered Y. k. Abass to stop parading himself as Babaloja-General of Oyo State.
