Oyo state correspondent for DAILY POST newspaper, Mr. Musliudeen Atanda Adebayo has bagged a degree of Master in Sociology at the University of Ibadan.
Adebayo along with 3,566 other students bagged the degree of Master (academic) at the convocation for post graduate students of the university which was held on Tuesday.
Our correspondent reports that 489 other students also bagged a degree of Master (Professional) during the convocation.
Apart from that, 20 other students bagged a degree of Master of Philosophy during the convocation.
Our correspondent learnt that the award of degree of Master (academic and professional) and degree of Master of Philosophy at the university was part of the 2021 convocation and 73 founder day of the university.
The event took place at International Conference Center, University of Ibadan on Tuesday.
Adebayo, a social worker cum journalist and Public Relations Officer of Nigeria Association of Social Workers (NASoW) was among the students who where admitted for degree of Master in 2019. He has earlier bagged a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work and Administration at University of Jos in 2010 and a Post graduate diploma in Journalism at International Institute of Journalism, Abuja in 2012.
Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Kayode Adebowale while addressing the graduands urged them to maintain the name the university has built.
He added that a total of 8,474 students had been conferred with first degree on Monday.
He said “I welcome you to the second day of the three day convocation for the award of degree of Master and degree of Master of Philosophy.
“The post graduate college of University of Ibadan has continually maintained high standard.
“Ladies and gentlemen, yesterday a total of 8,474 students were conferred with first degree, today, 3,567 bagged degree of Master (academic) 489 bagged degree of Master (professional), 20 bagged degree of Master of Philosophy and 71 bagged post graduate diploma”.
