It was a joyous moment for Alhaji Sarafa Adewumi Agbogun, the Bursar and Head of Bursary Department of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora as both the management and former management of the institution, including the acting Provost, College of Agricultural Sciences and Renewable Natural Resources campus of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Prof. Gbemiga Adewale and his wife, Deaconess Bosede Adewale joined family and friends to celebrate a financial guru, Dr. Sarafa Agbogun on the attainment of his Doctoral Degree in accounting at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, on Saturday.
Other dignitaries at the event were Dr. Agbogun’s Supervisor, Dr. Ebenezer Yemi Akinkoye, Staff of Ladoke Akintola Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso, Former Deputy Rector, Dr. Ariyo Okunlola, former Registrar, Mr. Niyi Fehintola, Dr. Taiwo Akinyemi, Deputy Rector, Mr. Paul Oyediran, Acting Registrar, Acting Librarian, Mr. Rasak Oyewo, Acting Director of Audit, Mr. Kolawole Atanda, Acting Director of Works and Services, Engr. Fagbemi Agboola, Secretary to Management, Mr. O. B. Gbadamosi, Dean of Students, Dr. Wasiu Raheem, Staff of Bursary Department.

Alhaji Sarafa Agbogun who successfully defended his Doctorate Degree Programme in Accounting from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in August 13, 2021 was among the lucky graduands at the 2021 convocation ceremony at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
In his remarks, Dr. Akinkoye who congratulated his supervisee described Agbogun as a dedicated student.
According to him, “he made the job so easy for me because he made himself available. He was so committed, devoted and diligent even on Sundays you will see him waiting for me, after Church service, we would be together for hour till around 6.00pm. I really want to thank God for today because his dream has come true”.
The graduand, Dr. Agbogun expressed gratitude to his supervisor, Dr. Ebenezer Yemi Akinkoye, the Head of Management and Accounting Department, OAU Ile-Ife, Prof. Kehinde Oso Osotimehin, family and friends for their prayers and support.
Speaking on his source of motivation, Dr. Agbogun said he drew inspiration from his quest for more knowledge.
Agbogun holds two Higher National Diploma in Banking and Finance and Accounting. He also holds Bachelor of Science Degree and Master of Science in Accounting and Master in Business Administration.
Alhaji Agbogun started his academic pursuit at the Baptist Modern / Commercial School, Eruwa between 1973 and 1977. He worked as Typist/ Clerical Officer of the then Teacher Training College, Eruwa between 1977 and 1979.
He proceeded to Baptist Grammar School Eruwa in 1979 and completed his studies in 1981 as a pioneer Senior Prefect Boy.
Dr. Agbogun proceeded to the Polytechnic, Ibadan in 1982 for his Ordinary National Diploma in Banking. Between 1986 and 1988, he completed his Higher National Diploma in Banking and Finance from the Polytechnic, Ibadan.
In order to broaden his scope of practice, the dogged Agbogun returned to school and obtained another Higher National Diploma Certificate in Accountancy from the Federal Polytechnic, Ede in 2004.
The unwavering Agbogun also obtained Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Master in Business Administration from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago- Iwoye.
Dr. Agbogun also holds Master of Science in Accounting and Doctorate Degree in Accounting from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
Having worked in various private companies as Auditor and Accountant, Dr. Agbogun joined the services of Ladoke Akintola Teaching Hospital in 2001 as a Senior Accountant, where he rose to become the Deputy Director, Internal Audit, the position he held before joining the services of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora in 2017 as the Bursar and Head of Bursary Department.
The Studious Agbogun has received series of training both within and outside Nigeria. He has also imparted knowledge on several subordinates he comes across in during his working career.
Alhaji Agbogun is very sound in accounting, auditing, Tax practices, banking and Finance and Forensic Accounting coupled with Management Information System.
He has delivered various papers at various workshops. He is both an Assessor and Examiner under the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (FCTI).
Alhaji Agbogun is currently a member of Strategy Advocacy and Performance Tracking Committee for the presidential Year of 2021/2022 and Member of Oyo State Tactical Committee for Vision 2021-2050.
Dr. Agbogun is an Alumnus of the Polytechnic, Ibadan, Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye and Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife
Alhaji Sarafa Agbogun is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria; Fellow Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and Associate Member Nigeria Institute of Management as well as Associate Member, Chartered Certified Forensic Accountant.
