The Oyo state chapter of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, felicitates with Muslims in the State and across the country on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and celebration of Eid-el-fitri.
The party in a statement signed by its State Publicity Secretary, Comrade Femi Olaitan Hero, wished the Muslim faithful a joyous and peaceful celebration, while urging them not to abandon all the lessons and virtues of the just concluded glorious month.
He said: “On behalf of the leadership of the New Nigeria People’s Party in Oyo State, I congratulate Muslims in our dear State and across the country on the successful conclusion of this year’s Ramadan fasting and the celebration of Eid-el-fitri festival. We heartily wish you all a joyous and peaceful celebrations.
“While the month has ended, it is important we hold on to the lessons and virtues of the holy month. Let’s continue to embrace the virtues of Ramadan including tolerance, love, forgiveness and kindness to others.”
The Oyo NNPP urged Muslims in the State to remain steadfast, committed to the worship of Allah and continue to pray for the peace, unity and development of Oyo and Nigeria at large.
He also tasked them and indeed all Nigerians to use this occasion of Eid-el-fitri to offer prayers for divine intervention in the fight against insecurity while expressing hope that the state and the Nigeria at large would experience total peace.
In view of the current economic realities, Hero urged the Muslim faithful and well-meaning Nigerians to reach out and show compassion to the less privileged members of the society.
