The Majority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin has felicitated with Nigerian Muslims, especially Chief Imams, Islamic clerics, Muslim communities and entire people of Ogbomoso South Local Government for this year’s Eid-el-Maulud celebration.
Adedoyin said Maulud, which is to mark the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), is a time for sober reflections.
In a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Wednesday, the lawmaker urged Nigerian Muslims to use the occasion to pray for continuous peaceful coexistence in the country.
Adedoyin also urged Muslims to imbibe the good teachings and the leadership qualities of the Holy Prophet, which he exhibited during his time.
He called on them to use the occasion to promote unity among the diverse people of Nigeria and Oyo state, noting that peace and unity are keys to the development of the country.
“I join millions of Nigerians to congratulate our Muslim brothers and sisters for witnessing this year’s Eid-el-Maulud. It is indeed an occasion worth celebrating.
“I urge our countrymen and women, especially Muslims, to use the occasion to pray for our country at this time of our development,” he said.
