Ex-Oyo LG boss, Akinlabi applauds Tinubu over Zacchaeus Adedeji’s appointment

Mr. Akinyemi Akinlabi, a former Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government in Oyo State has applauded the appointment of Mr. Zaccheus Adedeji by President Bola Tinubu as Special Adviser on Revenue.

 

This is contained in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Friday in Ibadan.

 

The president had on Thursday announced Adedeji as one of his eight newly approved Special Advisers.

 

Adedeji was a former Commissioner for Finance in Oyo state during the administration of late former Gov. Abiola Ajimobi and immediate past Executive Secretary, National Sugar Development Council (NSDC).

 

Akinlabi described all the appointments made by the president as commendable, saying everyone on the list are professionals with proven track records.

 

The former local government chairmen said that Adedeji deserved the newly created position for him given the present economic situation of the county.

 

He described Adedeji as a knowledgeable and competent financial expert, who had in previous positions held, demonstrated capacity with great results.

 

The APC chieftain said that Adedeji has the capacity and competence to block leakages in revenue sources while opening new windows to drive the nation’s revenue base.

 

Akinlabi said that the president has demonstrated more than preparedness to transform Nigeria, adding such was evident in the commendations on Tinubu’s efforts from across the world.

 

He expressed optimism that the nation would benefit a lot from all individuals that made up the appointments made so far by the president.

 

“We thank Mr President on the appointments made so far. They are all professionals with proven track records. As for our own Adedeji, we proud of him and confident he will deliver,” he said.
