Family holds 41 day fidau prayer for late Maj. Gen. Iyanda Muraina in Ibadan

Family, friends and associates of late Major General Abdullahi Iyanda Muraina on Thursday held 41 days fidau prayer for the deceased in his ancestral home, Daada Compound, Adeoyo Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

 

The event which was well attended by family, friends and associates was put together by the deceased siblings led by Alhaji Kabir Busari Muraina including
Alhaja Rasidat Adebisi, Alhaja Monsurat Oladejo, and Mr. AbdulJeleel Muraina as well as the extended family members led by Mogaji Daada.

 

Dignitaries at the event include Muslim Clerics, officials from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Col. Chief Mrs. Nike Akerele (Rtd), Engr. Chief Dotun Sanusi, Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade, Mr. Oluwafemi Abioye, Ace Fuji Musician, Alhaji Rashidi Ayinde (Merenge) among others.

 

Those who spoke at the event extolled the virtue of the deceased, commending his efforts towards the development of Ibadanland during his life time.

 

They equally lauded the virtue of Muraina’s philanthropic gesture when alive.

 

Recall that the deceased, a recipient of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII)/Ibadan award, who was also the President, Chartered of Nigerian Institute of Management and was also honoured as Aare Ajagundola of Iseyinland by the late Aseyin who died last month after brief illness.

 

One of the invited clerics, Dr. Mudasiru Bada described the deceased as a philantropist of note who always contribute to whatever that concerned Ibadanland both morally and financially.

 

The Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Abdulrasheed AbdulAzeez said the deceased did a lot to alleviate poverty in the life of the people, charged the family to emulate the virtues the deceased left behind.

 

In his vote of thanks remarks, Alh Kabir. Busari Muraina calles for strong ties of relationship amongst the family members.

 

He however urged them to adhere strictly with the admonitions of the Cleric and forget about any forms of shortcomings on how the burial of the General was handled.
