The traditional institution stakeholders in Ibadanland, including the Mogajis, monarchs, Baales, Ibadan Compound Peace Initiative (ICPI) and prominent sons and daughters of the ancient city have warned individuals, groups, most especially the political class against disrespecting the stool of Olubadan and Ibadan traditional institution.
The Ibadan traditional stakeholders said anybody, groups or politicians found disrespecting Olubadan traditional stool or associating with those disrespecting institution should forget the votes of the people of Ibadanland come 2027.
A statement by the President of Ibadan Mogajis, Mogaji Asimiyu Ariori and Coordinator of ICPI, Mogaji Dr. Nurudeen Akinade boasted that Ibadanland, which has 11 Local Governments has more than 60% of the total votes of the state.
The duo maintained that no politicians wins any election without the support of Ibadan people, adding that it is obvious that Ibadan decided whatever happened politically in the state and beyond.
According to the statement, the Ibadan traditional stakeholders are hellbent to ensure that the institution of Olubadan and Ibadanland is protected against any form of ridicules.
“Anybody that disrespect or associate with whoever intends to ridicule Ibadanland and our traditional Institution should forget 2027.
“We have been watching and monitoring things in recent times. The Olubadan institution and Ibadan traditional institution in general is so crucial and important to us.”
