Group Appeals to Prince Dapo Abiodun on Aides Alleged Misappropriation, Lackadaisical Attitudes

Members of a group in the ruling party in Ogun State,  All Progressives Congress Mandate Advocacy who serves as the voice of true progressives in Remo North have expressed their feelings to Prince Dapo Abiodun over alleged misappropriation and lackadaisical attitudes of his aides.

The group made appeal to the governor in a letter obtained by Pacesetter news correspondent on Saturday.

“With utmost respect and genuine loyalty to your exalted office and leadership, we write to humbly and solemnly bring to your notice a festering wound in the heart of Remo North Local Government — one that has continued to deepen due to the unrepentant political misdemeanors and divisive antics of Hon. Adebiyi Adeleye, the current Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Affairs”.

They stated that Remo North bleeds silently and the soul of their local party chapter is being slowly but surely strangled by the alleged reckless ambition and destabilizing antics of Hon. Adebiyi Adeleye, who they said has grossly betrayed the confidence reposed in him both by the governor and the party.

“Hon. Adebiyi Adeleye, who today occupies a privileged seat in your government, has regrettably transformed that office into a tool of selfish vendetta, internal sabotage, and unchecked autocracy.

“As a critical bloc of concerned party faithful and loyal stakeholders under the umbrella of APC Mandate Advocacy, we have watched with pain, disbelief, and helplessness the destructive path charted by Hon. Adeleye — a man whom the party lifted from political oblivion and gave a platform to thrive. Instead of reciprocating the trust placed in him by Your Excellency and the party at large, he has turned himself into a political demigod who desecrates party norms and undermines collective unity.
We cannot continue to pretend that all is well when the roof over Remo North APC is leaking profusely.

“Hon. Adebiyi Adeleye, who occupies an exalted but clearly underserved office as the Special Adviser on Political Affairs, has become more of a liability than an asset to the government and the party. His actions and inactions have continued to erode the strength, stability, and cohesion of our dear party in Remo North, and by extension, the entire Remo Federal Constituency.

“Let it be known that we built this party brick by brick, often with our sweat and blood, and in the face of threats and opposition. We labored in the trenches when many, including the likes of Adeleye, stood aloof. It is, therefore, painful and disheartening to see our collective sacrifice gradually being undone by the ego and greed of one man and his clique.

Hon. Adeleye’s covetousness has left the party structure in tatters. He has consistently abused the privileges of his office by acting unilaterally without recourse to the party leaders, elders, and stakeholders. He singlehandedly selected delegates from Remo North in the recently concluded APC primary election for the Ikenne, Sagamu, Remo North Federal Constituency — an act that goes against every principle of fairness, inclusion, and due process that our party holds dear.
His self-serving approach, rather than serving as the Governor’s political ambassador, has caused more harm than good. How does one explain the fact that despite being a contestant and representative of the Governor, he was glaringly absent at the party primary held in Sagamu — an election that was pivotal to our credibility as a party? His absence spoke volumes, and his silence since then has been deafening. Till date, he is the only aspirant who has not publicly congratulated or even acknowledged the candidacy of Hon. Adesola Elegbeji, the duly emerged party flagbearer. This, to any rational mind, is an act of insubordination and a slap on the face of party discipline.

“Your Excellency, it is increasingly clear that Hon. Adeleye is not acting in alignment with your progressive and inclusive political vision. He has instead weaponized his office to divide the ranks of the party, hijack the structure, and promote personal vendettas. His attitude reeks of entitlement, and his refusal to carry party stakeholders along has reduced the once-robust APC family in Remo North to a house of confusion and disarray.

“The local government chairman, Hon. Muyiwa Sodade whose office should ideally be loyal to the party’s supreme authority — which is the Governor — has regrettably become an errand boy to Adeleye, openly flaunting directives issued by him as though they were orders from the Governor’s Office. This dangerous allegiance to a man who has no respect for party supremacy has created a parallel leadership that undermines your administration and stifles true grassroots engagement.

“It is becoming increasingly worrisome that the Executive Chairman of our local government has reduced the sacred mandate of his office to a mere appendage of Hon. Adebiyi Adeleye’s personal directives. Rather than carrying along the collective wisdom and counsel of party leaders and stakeholders, it is evident that virtually every project executed under this administration is done solely at the instruction or convenience of Hon. Adeleye, as though the local government has become a private estate under his supervision. Even more disturbing are the widespread and consistent reports that the monthly federal allocation meant for the development of our communities and the empowerment of our people is being quietly cornered and shared between the Chairman and Hon. Adeleye, leaving the rest of the party and the people in the cold. Such abuse of public trust and blatant disregard for inclusive governance is not only an insult to the very spirit of democracy but a betrayal of the ideals our party stands for.

“Even more disturbing, credible reports have emerged alleging that Hon. Adebiyi Adeleye has been secretly scheming with opposition elements to frustrate the emergence of the party’s candidate, Hon. Adesola Elegbeji, at the polls. This alleged betrayal, driven by his bruised ego after failing to secure the ticket, is the most despicable and dangerous turn of events yet. If proven true, this would amount to political treason against the very party that gave him a platform and the government that elevated him to prominence.

“Your Excellency Sir, We are losing grip of our party. The proof lies in our shocking and painful loss of the Ogun State House of Assembly seat for Remo North. That loss was not a fluke. It was the direct consequence of Adeleye’s alienation of key party stakeholders, his highhandedness, and his inability to harmonize interests. Under his watch, we have hemorrhaged supporters, influential backers, and young progressives who once found pride in APC’s flag. The political base of Remo North — once a stronghold of the All Progressives Congress — is now teetering on the brink of collapse.
We raise this alarm not out of hatred, but from a place of deep patriotism and love for this party and your leadership. Adebiyi Adeleye has betrayed the very ideals of loyalty, service, and grassroots mobilization. He has desecrated the platform that made him, and has now become a threat to its continued survival in Remo North.
We urge Your Excellency to act now — to call Hon. Adebiyi Adeleye to order, to reevaluate his continued relevance in your cabinet, and to rescue the soul of the APC in Remo North before the rot becomes irreversible. We need leadership, not lordship. We need inclusion, not isolation. We need harmony, not hegemony.

“Your Excellency, if this tide is not arrested urgently, we may completely lose Remo North as a dependable stronghold of the APC in the forthcoming general elections. The signs are ominous, and the disaffection is growing by the day. The people are tired. The party is bleeding. The base is crumbling. And the silence of leadership could be interpreted as complicity.
We believe in your leadership, your foresight, and your legacy as a Governor who listens and acts in the interest of justice and party supremacy. We believe that your administration will not reward betrayal with silence or sabotage with tolerance.

“Let it be on record that APC Mandate Advocacy has sounded this warning — not as rebels, but as reformers seeking to protect the house we jointly built. We remain loyal to your government and to the vision of a better, united, and truly progressive APC in Ogun State.” The letter read in parts.
