Group, prominent Nigerians congratulate Alli on appointment as senate committee chair

Some prominent Nigerians and groups have continued to congratulate Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) on his appointment as Senate Committee Chairman on Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

This is contained in a statement signed by his Media Aide, Mr. Akeem Abas and made available to newsmen on Wednesday.

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio announced the new chairmen of standing committees on Monday at the red chamber of the National Assembly.

Alli, the Maye Balogun of Ibadanland, was also appointed as Vice-Chairman, Senate Committee on Customs.

Among those who have called to congratulate the senator are the State APC Deputy Chairman, Alhaji Olayide Abas; the Oyo South Senatorial Chairman of APC, Alhaji Mojeed Olaoya and former Chairman, National Lottery Commission, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle.

Also on the list of callers are Dr. Tunji Olanipekun, Chief Olalekan Alli, former Secretary to Oyo State Government, Prof. Gbade Ojo, former Chief of Staff to late Gov. Abiola Ajimobi and Prof. Rasheed Aderinoye.

Others are Hon. Kehinde Subair, Mr Shina Alabi, Mr. Laide Oladeji, Alhaji Abdulkabir Lawal, Hon. Fatai Salau and Hon Sunday Ewebiyi.

Alhaji Olayide Abas, the State APC Deputy Chairman, congratulated Alli on his appointment, describing it as well deserved.

“My dear Chief, brother and Distinguished Senator, lilahi’l Amdu for the well deserved recognition accorded you by the Senate.

“May Allah(SWT) endow you with all you need to deliver creditably in those capacities. Congrats! as you have my very best wishes and sincere regards always,” he said.

Mr Toye Ojewunmi, a friend of the senator, expressed confidence that Alli would make remarkable impacts on the new assignments going by his prowess and enviable track records of performance.

“One has no doubt about your ability to make remarkable impacts on the new assignments going by your Allah’s given prowess and enviable track records of performance through your sojourn till date.

“I pray that Allah (SWT) to continue to strengthen you, grant you Solomonic wisdom and wherewithal to excel beyond expectations,” he said.

Mr Ademola Omotoso, former Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, described the appointment as a great recognition and uncommon feat for a first term Senator.

“This is a great recognition and an uncommon feat for a first term Senator. This speaks volumes about the man, his ability and character.

“You are indeed a pride of Ibadan and by extension that of Ibadan North. I pray that this shall be the beginning of greater things ahead. I wish you the very best in the new assignment,” he said.

Prof. Ishaq Omotosho from University College Hospital (UCH), congratulated Alli on the appointment, praying that God endow him and give him the grace to perform excellently.

Alhaja Fatimo Adenekan, the senator’s aunt, expressed confidence that Alli would deliver on his new assignment in the red Chamber going by his experience and antecedents.

“It is a big assignment given to you. I know with your faithfulness and understanding of the law, the assignment shall be well accomplished. Wish you well in all your daily undertakings.

“Congratulations my dear brother. I pray to God Almighty to give you the skills, intelligence and forthrightness to steer the ship to the land promise,” she said.

Mr Bolaji Abiodun from Ido Local Government, said that Alli’s discipline, knowledge, skills, political dexterity and very essence garnered him the new role.

“This new assignment proves that you are worthy of being at the top of the charts,the head of the class, the front of the line, and otherwise the best of the best.

“No doubt, your discipline, knowledge, skills, political dexterity and indeed your very essence have garnered you a new role to play in the 10th Senate.

“Your ascension is an inspiration to all who wish to grow in politics. May you thrive on the challenges and joy it brings your way. Please, accept my congratulations on your new position,” he said.

Mr Isaac Akintola, a former Surveyor-General in Oyo State, said that the appointment was God’s faithfulness in the life of the senator.

“This appointment by the Senate is definitely God’s faithfulness in the life of our Senator. We appreciate his ingenuity, purposefulness and result-driven virtues which earned him the new assignment,” he said.

Mr Alex Akintayo from Houston Texas in the United States of America (USA), congratulated Alli on his new appointment, describing it as well deserved.

“May the lord give you wisdom and strength to perform the assignment,” he said.

Chief Ademola Babalola, the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), Oyo State Council, congratulated Alli on his appointment.

Babalola expressed confidence in Alli’s capabilities to perform creditably considering his experience and track records of performance.

Mr. Banji Ogundele, the Chairman, League of Veteran Journalists in Oyo State, congratulated the lawmaker on his appointment, wishing him success in his political journey.

“This is to congratulate Distinguished Senator on your appointment as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on INEC.

“I wish you more success in your political journey. I believe the sky is the limit now. Congratulations once more,” he said.

Also, the G4 group in Ireland, represented by Alhaji Abiola Salmon and Hon. Dauda Ismail, who represented BSA Support Group in Canada, congratulated Alli on his new appointment.
