Dear reader, thanks for willing to use the next five minutes on my content. I bear in me the greatest values of having a sound political leader like Hon. Olusegun Odebunmi BUNVIC represent you at the green chamber, for a third term.
Bunvic – a man whose laudable achievements within the constituency he represents remains a lesson to everyone who admires greatness.
Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency can’t thank God enough for giving her BUNVIC, who does not reason for them, but instead reason with them. I am very sure that Bunvic’s third term is God’s grace in abundance to the people of the constituency for the continuation of a Renaissance already started.

The following are strategic ways Bunvic used in the first three years and some months of his third term as a legislator to bring Ogooluwa/Surulere Constituency to the contemporary standard of her contemporaries.
1. HUMAN DEVELOPMENT: Bunvic has willingly used and still uses his representation to grow many constituents in trainings and empowerments like ; on the 19th December, 2019 he facilitated Micro Enterprise Enhancement loans scheme for the constituency women by the Federal government through NDE. On the 2nd to 13th of December, the honourable through forestry research institute of Nigeria trained youths on Strategic Agroforestry and empowered them with cash after the seminar.
📍Capacity Building & Empowerment for 300 youths in advertising practice. The Advertising Practitioner Council of Nigeria oversaw the program which had participants drawn from the two local councils respectively, and it came up at Ragaray events hall, on the 9th of January, 2020.
Empowerment and training on the application of Bio-safety to Agriculture was also organised , and held at Bio-Resources Development Center, Ogbomoso on…… On the same day, an Empowerment, training and certification on video editing, production, script writing, film acting and photography, took place at the center for Arts and Film Recourses Center, Ogbomoso.
November 15th 2021, there was a capacity building seminar he facilitated for selected constituency students in censorship and classification, and it happened at the Bio Resource center, Onipaanu, Surulere LG, Oyo State.
In addition to, he facilitated the training of the constituency youth on artificial insemination for improved productivity of pigs, and it happened at Opete Town Hall,which lasted from the 29th of November to 1st of December 2021. November 16th 2021,the third term lawmaker continued by engaging farmers in the constituency in a capacity building and empowerment on rice, Cassava and Cashew Farming, and the program was done in conjunction with the Institute of Agricultural research and training OAU.
More so, he empowered over 300 women drawn from the 33 local councils and 35 LCDAs from Oyo State, on Micro Enterprise Enhancement Loan Scheme, through the Nigerian Directorates of Employment.
A number of recommendation letters for hundreds of the constituency youths has been written. He as well facilitated federal government employment for several graduates and non graduates of the constituency too. No fewer than 108 of the constituency youths were trained in cinematography and film making, while each of the trainees went home empowered with a brand new HP laptop. Yet, on the 29th of September 2022, he presented HP laptops to youths/students of the constituency and similarly he gave out 50 motorcycle to some youths, so they could become self reliant.
In conclusion, honourable Bunvic ends the year 2022 with a mega empowerment just as not less than 1, 400 constituents who are farmers and artisans were empowered with different equipment and items on the 31st of December 2022.
2. HIS EFFORTS ON EDUCATION.
Effortlessly, Hon BUNVIC is working day in and day out to let students from his constituency be able to catch up with their contemporaries and that he has been doing since his first term as our representative. But during his third term, he refired massively with the construction of modern and fully equipped ICT Centres in selected schools across the constituency. Construction of blocks of classrooms too were done in no fewer than 10 schools in the Constituency. Moreover, he paid for numbers of secondary school students’ NECO fee, gave HP laptops and other educational materials to the first 10 participants through his Bunvic Enlightenment Educational Program (BEEP) under Olusegun Odebunmi Education Foundation.
3. INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT AND SOCIAL SERVICES
Bunvic, in his leadership and representation, has always held the view that true democratic governance is the one that works with the people and not for them. That explains why he doesn’t indulge in building projects like his counterparts. As a quintessential parliamentarian that he is, he has exaltedly wore the constituency a new and befitting garment with the repair of roads in the Constituency through FERMA, connecting numbers of communities to the national grid, and some with poor/epileptic electricity supply due to lack of transformers. Such communities include Arolu, Gambari, Iregbaoja, Biiro Olooyo, Kale, Ìlú-Ọ̀dẹ̀, Iranyin and Odoofo. He has numbers of motorised Boreholes erected at strategic areas in the Constituency too. Such areas include Otamokun, Winners, Gambari, Asewaro Ilajue, Aho, Mayin among others. He also facilitated relief materials from National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), for communities where over 500 houses were partly or completely demolished in rainstorms in Surulere LG. Items given to the victims include Zinc roofing sheets, ceiling boards, bags of cement, mattresses and mosquito nets. Food items like bags of parboiled rice, bags of Garri, bags of salt, kegs of vegetable oil, and tin tomatoes were also included. Being a man of good foresight, he facilitated a federal radio corporation to the Constituency, and it’s done as a constituency project which was also first of its kind in Nigeria.
Being a politician with foresight, honourable Bunvic noticed youth in the area he represents had missed several job opportunities due to lack of ICT knowledge. So, to curb that from escalating to the coming generation, the honourable on September 29, 2022, presented laptops and cameras to youths of his constituency after an empowerment training in ICT.
Similarly as he prepares the coming generation for the task ahead, on the same date he empowered numbers of the present with the present which is transportation, as he gave out 50 motorcycles to them.
He did all of the aforementioned disbursement in fulfillment of his campaign promises of empowering youth and women in the Constituency to become self-reliant.
Yet, on the 31st of December 2022, Hon. Bunvic rounded the year off with a mega empowerment in his constituency as he empowers not less than 600 constituents, who are farmers and artisans with various business tools and items during the 3rd edition of his Annual Bunvic empowerment Programme for the year 2022.
I won’t fail to acknowledge his productiveness, as it was part of what saved the constituency from the Covid-19 outbreak. He had been sensitising the constituents ahead of the lockdown, through electronic media and prints, and social media platforms. When the lockdown was declared, BUNVIC distributed thousands of hand sanitizers, food items worth more than 2 million naira along with cash given out to the constituents across the two local governments of the Federal constituency.
In the same vein, he has also been a driving force at the green chamber with his numerous propositions in the house.
HIS OVERSIGHT AT A GLANCE
The House Committee on Information, National Orientation, Ethics and Values under the chairmanship of Hon Ṣẹ́gun Odebunmi BUNVIC reiterated its commitment to provide legislative support to government-owned media organizations during the committee’s oversight visit to MDAs under the ministry of information.
Moreover, Bunvic, at many times, emphasized the need for the Federal Government through the Ministry of information and culture to provide FRCN and NTA with modern equipments to discharge effectively and adequately their duties.

MOTIONS
Below are some of the motions proudly sponsored by Hon. Segun Odebunmi along with their synopsis and how they’ve navigate through the nation and other states;
1. Need to access the African continental free trade agreement signed by President Muhammadu Buhari at the extra-ordinary session of the assembly of African Union Head of state and Government in Naimy ,Niger Republic on the 7th July 2019.
2. An overview of the Directive on foreign exchange restriction on food importation
3. An overview of the border closures by the federal government vis-à-vis its economic implications.
Synopsis;
📍The motion to access African Continental Free Trade Agreement is aimed at allowing free access of some goods and products by removing about 90% of tariff, most especially, goods are that produced within Africa. This will encourage intra-Africa trading in areas of comparative advantage. The volume of trade will increase and that is capable of increasing overall Production and GDP of countries in Africa.
📍On the other hand, in order to empower Local currency and stimulate local production, food products that can be produced locally in Nigeria should be restricted. This is otherwise known as import substitution.
📍The attempt to implement restrictions led to the closing of border spaces in Nigeria to disallow importation of some certain goods, most especially food products like Rice. The closing of border will also disallow illegal smuggling, most especially, smuggling of arms by the terrorists and bandits.
While motion one supports opening of borders for other African countries, motion two and three cautions Nigeria in her decision because border opening without some restriction is counterproductive to socioeconomic conditions of the Nation.
Hon. Segun Odebunmi has proven to be a resourceful leader who through his creation, implementation and management skills have greatly added value to his constituency and more importantly, to the country as a whole. If a lot is to be cast a thousand times, a thousand times it would fall on Hon. Segun Odebunmi for his great works and contribution to the betterment of the nation as a whole.
The Otunba of Iresaadu and Okanlomo of Ogbomosoland is a very focused man. He is not distracted by the political noisemaking. And a fact worthy of being conceded is that he is truly a man of destiny as evidently shown by the victories he scored in his political journeys.
My assessment of him since his days at the green chamber, is that he mixes well, has a forgiving spirit and always aspire to engage in projects that will be generally beneficial to all and sundry. So far, his level of achievements for Ogooluwa/Surulere Constituency has indicated that he is not a political failure. His representation is better unbiasedly assessed when compared with the achievements of his predecessors.
Bunvic has a greater vision of Ogooluwa/Surulere Constituency, so as we approach another time to choose who represents us at the green chamber, don’t just think of the election; think about the coming generation.
Election will come and go with whatever the money bag politicians give you. But whatever good representation gives would be there for coming generations to see.
