The survival of humanity depends on the act of kindness and service to others. Nothing explains this more than the decision of the wife of Honourable Shina Peller, Chief (Mrs.) Ayobola Peller, the Yeye Ayedero of Yoruba Land, to celebrate her birthday with the less privileged and the vulnerable on 1st April 2022 when she turns a year older.
To ensure a structured sustainability of the gesture, she is also seizing the opportunity of her birthday to unveil a charitable foundation – the AYOBOLA PELLER FOUNDATION.
The platform is established to reach out to widows, orphanage homes, schools for the handicapped, secondary school age girls, hospitals and maternity wards in different impoverished locations within Nigeria.
Mrs. Ayobola Peller is also enjoining well-meaning Nigerians to join her in reaching out to more vulnerable Nigerians in need of hope, even as she commits to a lifelong social investment in eradicating poverty in our society and ensuring the dignity of the human person.
In line with goals one, two, three, five, six and seventeen of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Ayobola Peller Foundation works in communities in dire need of hope and help in achieving zero poverty and hunger, good health and well-being, clean water and sanitation, gender equality and human dignity through interventions, projects and activities that contribute to the wellbeing and growth of individuals in order to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all people.
The mission of the foundation is to serve as a helping hand to the less privileged in the society through impact driven interventions, projects and programmes.
In addition, the vision is to impact and build a society in which the life of everyone matters.
The Ayobola Peller Foundation is concerned and bothered about the widening poverty line in Nigeria, as 4 in 10 Nigerians are still below the poverty line, indicating more than 80 million poor people that go to bed every night without food according to the World Bank.
In line with the vision and mandate of supporting women and children in need, particularly the orphaned, windowed, disabled and vulnerable, the foundation is embarking on a “Charity for Communities in Need” project.
The Charity for Communities in Need will donate food items and relief materials to households, orphanages and healthcare settings as well as food items, sanitary and educational items to kids in our identified communities in dire need of these materials.
