…vows to woo more people to PDP
In a major political development in Ogbomoso South, several aggrieved members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who had earlier defected to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) have resolved to return to the PDP.
The Majority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly and a chieftain of the PDP in Ogbomoso played a pivotal role in the reconciliation process by hosting the former SDP members in a special meeting aimed at mending fences and restoring unity within the party.
“I hosted the aggrieved members of the SDP today to appeal to them to return to their original home, the PDP, which is big enough to accommodate everyone and every interest,” he stated.
“To the glory of God Almighty, everybody accepted to return home. We look forward to formally receiving our brothers and sisters at the next party meeting in our various wards and local units. Hurray! PDP is our party.”
The return of the former SDP members is being regarded as a significant boost for the PDP ahead of upcoming political activities in the state.
Party loyalists and leaders have applauded the development, reaffirming that the PDP remains a unifying platform committed to inclusiveness, growth and grassroots development.
Some of the decampees also expressed their readiness to contribute meaningfully to the progress of the party, saying they are back home and eager to work towards making the PDP stronger across the state.
He vowed to woo more people to the ruling party in the state.
