The APC faces a strong challenge from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who is determined to take over the federal constituency.

To ensure success, the APC must carefully manage its primary election to ensure the emergence of a strong candidate. “A united and strong APC is essential to retaining this seat,” warned another observer.
