Ibadan Northeast Lawmaker, Owolabi Charges Oyo MDAs On Transparency,  Accountability 

The lawmaker representing Ibadan Northeast State Constituency II at the Oyo State House of Assembly, Sola Owolabi has challenged various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies of the state on improved service delivery through transparency and accountability as they manage public funds.

He made this call during a recent oversight functions of the House Committee on Public Accounts, which reviews the financial activities of the various MDAs of Oyo State in the past years.

The lawmaker who is the Chairman, House Committe on Public Accounts said: ” the thorough scrutiny of financial activities of various MDAs by the Committe,is in line with Governor Seyi Makinde’s transparency and accountability managing the resources of the State”

He added that, the State Legislature under the leadership of Rt. Honourable Debo Ogundoyin is equally proactive in its complimentary role through its oversight functions,as empowered by section126(2b) of the 1999 Constitution as amended.

The lawmaker posits that proper scrutiny of financial activities of these MDAs, further strengthens the people’s confidence reposed in the current administration in Oyo State under the stewardship of Governor Seyi Makinde.

The review of the financial activities of the various MDAs of Oyo State began on Monday 4th November this year, continues,as the Committe beams its search light on the activities of the various MDAs in preparation for the 2025 fiscal year.

This is expected to strengthen the confidence of local and international organizations in assessing the transparency and accountability of Oyo State Government in managing the state’s affairs.
