Ilaji 91.9 FM begins 24hrs broadcast test run as owner says it has come to stay

Radio listeners and enthusiasts in Ibadan are in for another good development as newly licensed radio station, Ilaji 91.9 FM Ibadan, has started a 24-hour broadcast test running.

The exercise, which has been on for many days according to the owner, Engr. Dotun Sanusi, is in preparation for full broadcast to the people of Ibadan and its environs.

Located in Akanran, the home of Ilaji hotels and sports resorts, Oloyo Village, Akanran, the radio station which is under theĀ Ilaji broadcasting limited, is going to attract top broadcasters from within and outside the state.

The Ibadan-born industrialist explained that his joy is in giving back to society and creating employment.

According to him, ā€œIlaji 91.9 FM, Ibadan is one of those things in my plans. I am grateful it has come to fruition.

“We have other plans. This one now, we have begun test transmission 24 hours per day. Few radio stations do that. We are in the process of recruitment. It may not be easy but it gives me joy employing people. This is because the salary will go a long way in taking care of people, especially family and dependants.

“I can assure you that this radio has come to stay. Though we have not come to compete, but we will strive to be the darling of the radio listeners.”

This platform understands that Sanusi, who is the Otun Apesinola of Ibadan, in his bid to further develop Ibadan, had established Ilaji Hotels and Games Resort almost a decade ago. This was just as he had established International College of Arts, Science and Technology, Elebu.

He also owns football clubs with affiliations with clubs in Europe.
