IT’S OFFICIAL: APC Candidate, Akeredolu Re-elected as Ondo State Governor

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared winner of the October 10 governorship elections in the Sunshine State by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He won 15 of the 18 local government areas.

Governor Akeredolu polled 292,830 votes to defeat his arch-rivals.  Mr Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored 195,791votes while Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) scored 69,127 votes.

Professor Olayinka, who is the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, announced the winner on Sunday at the office of the INEC, in Akure, which doubles as the final collation centre.
