Iwo Road Mayhem: NCC Boss, Akande, Condemns The Incident, Calls On Makinde To Rise Above Personal Affinity With Some Individuals

The Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Adeolu Akande has condemned the unfortunate incident that occurred at Iwo Road, Ibadan on Wednesday which claimed the lives of two people.

Prof. Akande who expressed his concerns on frequent breakdown of law and order in parts of the state, called on Governor Seyi Makinde to rise above his personal affinity with some of the individuals being fingered in the crisis to get to the root of the matter.

The Professor of Political Science, who is also a gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Oyo State advised Governor Seyi Makinde to act swiftly in curtailing such occurences in the state.

“The governor needs to be firm in maintaining law and order. His body language is encouraging hooliganism and brigandage. When people know that the governor is averse to thuggery,they will be law abiding” he added.

While commiserating with the families of those who lost their loved ones, Professor Akande urged the governor to investigate the matter with a view to bringing perpetrators to book.
