Kidnapping for ransom has been ranked as Nigeria’s most-reported crime case under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
This was according to StatiSense, which quoted 2023 data from Nigeria’s Ministry of Police Affairs.
In a post on its X account on Thursday, StatiSense noted that the date revealed that kidnapping cases have outperformed murder, banditry, terrorism, and armed robbery in terms of reports in Nigeria.
In a zonal analysis, kidnapping crimes are ranked as the most reported in the North Central (38.51 percent), North East (42.11 percent), North West (49.71 percent), South East (30.61 percent), and South-South (36.73 percent), except in the South West.
