Music is a moral booster, time capsule – Sonde

Group Managing Director, Yes 101.7 Fm and Yemi Sonde Media Academy, Mr. Yemi Sonde, has said music is a great tool to boost moral and inculcate values in the society.

He stated this in Ibadan during the courtesy visit of the Chairman, planning committee of Pasuma @ 55, Mr. Seun Awodele and Chief Executive Officer, Apreel 1 Events Management, Seyifunmi Odunuga popularly called Seyichicago for the preparation of 55th birthday ceremony of the Fuji Music Icon, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma which Yes 101.7 Fm is organizing in honor in Ibadan.

Yemi Sonde said, “Music is a moral booster because when people lose their value they lose everything, but culture and value can be expressed through music.

Sonde further noted that music is a time capsule as it can serve as the bitter truth in human behavior to have a positive change of mind, adding that it is also an act of entertainment which sweetens the heart of the people.

The Yes 101.7 Fm boss also referred to music as a tool of influence on people and fashion trend because people always follow the dress pattern of their favourite artists which Pasuma has done.

He added that music serves as a catalyst for change as Wasiu Alabi Pasuma uses songs to speak on behalf of the people who are voiceless using Fela Anikulapo Kuti, “Suffering and smiling” as a point of emphasis, noting that the song came as a result of the pains people were going through at the period.

He then lauded Wasiu Alabi Pasuma for not relenting in his musical career, imploring him to continue the good works he has started in music industry that made Yes 101.7 Fm to want to celebrate him.

Chairman planning committee of Pasuma @ 55 disclosed that the event will hold on Thursday, 24th of November, 2022 at the prestigious hall of Mauve 21, Ring Road, Ibadan.

He stressed that the event would be packaged by Apreel 1 Events Management.

“Prominent personalities across the world, creme de la creme in the society, celebrities, stakeholders in music industry are expected to grace the occasion”, Awodele said.
