“In addition, your commissioning of the Baptist Medical Centre in Igbajo remains a testament to your commitment to healthcare and community development,” the statement added.

NHBC lauded Rev. Akanji for consistently speaking against violence and insecurity across Nigeria, particularly those affecting children and vulnerable communities.

The church also recalled with pride how, during the 2025 International Father’s Day celebration, Rev. Akanji was honored with the *‘Father Abraham Distinguished Award’* as *Exemplary Fatherhood in Ministry* . by the Men’s Missionary Union (MMU) of NHBC.
