‘Odidiomo’ Commended by Elekunkun Idera Community, Others, Over Procurement of 1,000KVA Electricity Transformer

The Elekunkun Idera community of Adeoyo, Ring Road area in Ibadan the Oyo State capital, has lauded the member representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency of Oyo State in the House of Representatives and Oyo south senatorial candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide Odidiomo, for facilitating the procurement of a 1,000KVA electricity transformer valued at 16 million naira, describing the intervention as a major boost to electricity supply and socio-economic development within the community.

The community, in a letter of appreciation dated July 11, 2026 and jointly endorsed by its chairman, Mr. Abimbola Adisa and General Secretary, Mr. Kayode Bakare, also declared its total support for the federal lawmaker’s aspiration to represent Oyo south senatorial district in the senate, pledging to mobilize residents across the community in support of his candidature ahead of the 2027 general election.

The appreciation followed the release of 16 million naira for the procurement of the electricity transformer, which is expected to restore stable power supply to Elekunkun Idera and adjoining communities that have endured years of inadequate electricity.

The beneficiaries of the intervention include zones 1 – 9 of Elekunkun Idera community, as well as the neighbouring Idiorogbo community, where residents are expected to enjoy improved electricity supply upon installation of the transformer.

In the appreciation letter addressed to the federal lawmaker, the community leadership described the intervention as timely and impactful, noting that it would provide lasting relief to residents, artisans, traders and business owners whose economic activities had been hampered by poor electricity supply.

According to the community, the transformer project represents another demonstration of Olajide’s commitment to responsive representation and grassroots development.
“We write on behalf of the entire Elekunkun Idera community to express our heartfelt appreciation for your magnanimous gesture in providing electricity transformers to our community.
“Your commitment to improving the welfare and infrastructure of the people is highly commendable. This intervention will bring immense relief to our residents, boost economic activities and restore steady power supply to homes and businesses in Elekunkun Idera community. It is a clear testimony your love for the people and your vision for development,” the letter stated.

In recognition of what it described as the lawmaker’s outstanding record of service and community development, the leadership of Elekunkun Idera community declared its unflinching support for Olajide’s senatorial ambition.

The community also assured the federal lawmaker of its readiness to mobilise voters across the beneficiary zones in support of his aspiration.
“In recognition of your good works and selfless service, we wish to assure you that the whole Elekunkun Idera community will give you our total support for the Oyo south senatorial district position in the forthcoming election. We believe in your capacity to represent us well at the senate and we will fully mobilize our people to work for your victory,” the letter added.

Responding to the gesture, Olajide expressed appreciation to the leadership and residents of Elekunkun Idera for their confidence and support, assuring them that the intervention was borne out of his desire to address one of the community’s most pressing infrastructural needs.

The federal lawmaker assured the residents that he would continue to facilitate projects and programmes that address the developmental needs of communities across Ibadan North-west/Ibadan South-west federal constituency and by extension, Oyo south senatorial district.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining his approach to representation, promising that, if elected into the senate, he would pursue policies and attract projects aimed at expanding infrastructure, empowering young people, improving education, healthcare delivery and promoting inclusive economic development throughout the nine local government areas of Oyo south senatorial district.
