The Founder of OmoIyaKunmi Foundation (OIKF), Akinkunmi Saheed Siyanbola, has celebrated the successful conclusion of the foundation’s innovative “Pitch-Your-Business-Idea Initiative,” a life-changing empowerment programme that distributed a total of ₦900,000 to aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners.
According to Siyanbola, contestants were not informed beforehand that they would be pitching business ideas, making the exercise a true test of creativity, confidence, and entrepreneurial readiness. At the end of the competition, the overall winner received a cash prize of ₦200,000, while the first runner-up was awarded ₦150,000. In addition, eight other contestants received consolation prizes of ₦50,000 each to support their business aspirations.
The initiative also attracted additional acts of generosity from notable philanthropists and community leaders. Muideen Olalekan Olagunju presented ₦50,000 to a female participant, while Khadijat Gbadegesin donated ₦100,000 to another lady entrepreneur. Reflecting on the outcome, Siyanbola revealed that the foundation initially planned to empower only one individual with ₦100,000 but ultimately reached 12 beneficiaries with a combined support package of ₦900,000.
Expressing gratitude to all donors and supporters who contributed to the initiative’s success, the OIKF founder said the programme demonstrated the power of collective giving and community support. He prayed for continued blessings upon all contributors, noting that their generosity had not only transformed lives but also inspired hope among young entrepreneurs striving to build sustainable businesses.
