A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state, Alhaji Rasheed Adebisi Olopoeniyan has lampooned Oyo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Chief Bayo Lawal for his remarks.
Bayo Lawal, who was Director General of Seyi Makinde Campaign Organisation in the build to 2019 general elections, while featuring on Fresh FM 105.9hz Ibadan Political Circuit on Saturday, described Barr. Sharafadeen Alli, Alhaji Olopoeyan, Engr. Femi Babalola and others as political chickens and immature. “Many of those complaining about Governor Seyi Makinde have received their pays before the election, hence they have no reason to complain” he said.
However, Olopoeniyan in an interview with DoubleA Exclusive, described Chief Bayo Lawal as an ingrate and an accidental commissioner whose remarks are capable of disrupting the ongoing reconciliation process, headed by Dr. Saka Balogun. “Bayo Lawal should go and sit down, the governor didn’t send him what he was saying” said Olopoeyan.
The chieftain of the PDP said, “Lawal was nowhere to be found when we created “Oyo First” to champion the cause of Engr. Seyi Makinde. Chief Ilaka, Senator Hosea Halleluyah, Hon. Mulikat Akande-Adeola, Alli etc were the ones that formed it. It was Bisi Ilaka that brought Bayo Lawal to join us then”
Olopoeniyan said, Bayo Lawal has shown himself as an ingrate by saying he didn’t gain anything from Ladoja, he has forgotten that Ladoja gave him commissioner and he didn’t even say anything about Chief Yekeen Adeojo who happens to be his benefactor”.
“Lawal is a bad elder, “orisi agba meji lowa, agba daada ati agba-ya, category awon agbaya ni Bayo Lawal wa”
“Bayo Lawal didn’t win his ward as a senatorial candidate under Accord Party in 2011, I won his ward, I have the record” he said.
