OPINION: My Voice On The Emergence of PDP Presidential Candidate | Chief Gbolahan Raheem Ajalaruru

As a chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), I want to talk on the emergence of former Vice President of Nigeria, Turaki of Adamawa, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the Presidential candidate of our great party in the forthcoming general election come 2023.

This has generated a lot of controversies from down South of Nigeria. Some socio-cultural groups like, Afenifere and a host of others are condemning PDP for fielding a Northerner as the Party’s Presidential candidate.

If we all believe in one Nigeria and we want to let it be, we should learn how to do things with the fear of God. We should also not allow sentiments to override our sense of reasonings. If these two things are considered before making contribution on any national issue that affects Nigeria in general, then, I think Nigeria will move forward.

On the main issue, that Presidential candidate of all parties should come from the South, I quite agree with the agitators that it should be, but want to make a point that this wish may not be applicable to all parties.

Considering the two major political parties i.e. Peoples Democratic Party and All Progressives Congress, we all know that the two parties’ ideologies differ. People Democratic Party believes in thoroughness and like to standby their words at any point in time. Our great Party (PDP) strongly believes in equity, hence their resolve in embracing ROTATIONAL SYSTEM of vital/major offices to the six political zones in Nigeria. If those that are condemning PDP for the presidential primaries that gave birth to Alh. Atiku Abubakar as the Presidential candidate of the party are students of history, maybe they would have a rethink.

In 2019, it was the believe and stand of the party on equity that produced Alh. Atiku Abubakar/Peter Obi as the party candidates. But, we failed because we all owed ourselves to be robbed by the current ruling party in which there were no cries from any where then. The simple fact is that, it was a Southerner in person of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan that left the office of the President in 2015 as the PDP bearer. Are we now saying that when a Southerner who had been sworn-in twice as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria left the office, another Southerner should takeover? If so, why are we fighting the Northern Elites who out of ignorance are saying it should be them always?

My take for we Southerners and PDP faithful, please let us keep ourselves together. Don’t allow anyone to sell dommy to us, we should continue to stand by our words. If only we strongly believe in ONE NIGERIA; what is happening now is an open secret. So may God help us all.

On the our party candidate, we all know Turaki of Adamawa, Alh. Atiku Abubakar very well, it is an household name in Nigeria. He may be of Fulani origin, but we all know him for what he is. He is neither sectional nor tribalistic. This even reflect in his family life, the MOTHERS of his children are from all the major tribes of Nigeria; Yoruba, Hausa and ofcourse Igbo. This shows he belongs to all. There are even Christians among his wives.

Let me seize this opportunity on behalf of myself and all PDP faithful to congratulate Turaki Adamawa, Alh. Atiku Abubakar on his emergence as the Presidential Candidate of our great party, Peoples Democratic Party, we wish him all the best in the forthcoming elections.

You are welcome the ‘NIGERIA’S SAVIOUR’. To Nigerians, the Almighty God has spoken, he has given us our ‘REDEEMER’, let us all support him, Nigeria will not disintegrate under him.

Sirs/Mas, let me quickly drop a hint on the game plan of the All Progressives Congress (APC), they know the content of Section 137 of the Nigeria Constitution, they are aware that Dr. Goodluck Jonathan had been sworn-in twice and our constitution doesn’t allow more than twice for a person. They are hellbent to use GEJ to contest and make a northerner to continue the Fulanization of Buhari from where he is going to stop as the Vice President. After election, if they are able to rig it to their favour, the trap that is set is that someone will go to Supreme Court and obtain judgment against GEJ’s ineligibility to contest, then their Fulanization handler who had been pitched as the Vice-President will be sworn-in as President. May God forbid that thing in Nigeria this time around, amen.

Nigerians, please let’s shine our eyes and make sure we borrow ourselves sense against these devils.

Long live Nigeria!

Long live PDP!
