The gubernatorial candidate of Accord, Chief Adebayo Abdul-Waheed Adelabu has promised members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), League of Imams and Traditional Worshippers that his government will be religious tolerance if Accord is elected into power in 2023 in Oyo state.
As religious bodies and Artisans in Itesiwaju, Kajola and Atisbo local government areas of Oke-Ogun pledged support for the gubernatorial candidate of Accord, Chief Adelabu and the other candidates of the party in the zone in the 2023 general elections.
Speaking with the leadership of the religious bodies at different fora at their respective local governments, Chief Adelabu said his government will be devoid of religious bias and the right of every religion will be protected.
According to him, “All religions are equal in the presence of God, so why would human beings be sentimental about it?. We promise that our government when elected into office in 2023 will be fair to all.
“We are here to seek your support, prayers and blessings for our emergence in 2023. We would not let you down”.
Responding on behalf of CAN in Itesiwaju Local Government, Pastor M.O Adeagbo (JP), while expressing dismay over the deplorable condition of infrastructures in Oke-Ogun, appealed to Chief Adelabu not to renege on his promises when he gets to office in 2023.
Other CAN leaders at the meeting are Revd. S.O.A Omidara, Pastor Adeoye, Pastor G.J Akindeyi, Apostle Sunday and Pastor Oni J.O.
The Chairman, League of Imams on behalf of Islamic leaders in Itesiwaju, Alhaji Abdul-Ganiy Salam Ayodabo also promised the support of the Muslim community in the local government for Chief Adelabu’s ambition.
Speaking on behalf of the Traditional worshippers, Oluwo Otu, Ifajimi Adeniyi and Chief (Mrs.) Adebayo Ojeronke prayed for the emergence of Accord gubernatorial candidate, Chief Adelabu and the other candidates.
The duo said that the present governor in Oyo state, Engr Seyi Makinde made several promises to them in 2018 but none has been fulfilled till date.
They implored Chief Adelabu to be a Promise keeper when he is elected as the Governor of Oyo state in 2023.
The Chairman of the Nigeria Automobile Technicians Association (NATA), Itesiwaju Local Government, Mr. Raji Busari also spoke in a similar manner while pledging the support of NATA members to Accord in 2023.
The campaign council also visited the Onjo of Okeho, Oba AbdulRafiu Mustapha Osuolale Adeitain II for his Royal blessing, which the monarch and his chiefs gave in abundance.
Thereafter, the campaign council paid homage to an 89 year old retired Police officer, Pa Joseph Adeyemi, one of the Adegoke Adelabu’s (Penkelemisi) disciples and High Chief Ladoja’s political associate, who also pledged his support for the grandson of his leader. He promised to deliver Itesiwaju for Accord in 2023.
