The Association of Local Government of Nigeria ALGON) Oyo State, on Thursday commiserated with the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on the death of his mother, Madam Abigail Omojolagbe Makinde, who passed on in the early hours of Thursday in Ibadan at the age of 80years
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye, said the death of Mama Makinde was painful and sad.
The Chairman described the loss as a sad event which will leave a vacuum in the lives of the children, family, close relatives and friends of the family.
Aleshinloye , who also described the deceased as a pleasant, industrious woman and pillar of support to her son , said he received the news with disbelief and shock.
“ As mortals we never want our elderly ones to die, but the Holy Books say that all souls must taste death . So, we have to submit to the supreme will of the Almighty from whom we came and unto whom we shall all return ,”he said.
He prayed that may mama soul rest in perfect peace and God give the Makinde family the fortitude to bear the loss.
