The candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) for Oyo South Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide Odidiomo, has donated 1,000 solar powered streetlights to dark spots and vulnerable communities across the Ibarapa zone of Oyo State.

Announcing the developmental gesture on Saturday during an expansive APM Ibarapa zonal reconciliation and strategy meeting held in Ibarapaland, the lawmaker stated that the intervention is designed to immediately improve night time security, boost local commerce, and illuminate key public spaces across the region. The high level political gathering was led by the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, alongside the governorship candidate of the APM, Honourable Bimbo Adekanmbi, as well as prominent party leaders and grassroots stakeholders from across the state.

Addressing the enthusiastic crowd of party members and community leaders, Hon. Olajide disclosed that the 1,000 solar lighting units will be equitably distributed across all three local government areas in the agrarian belt of Ibarapa East, Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North.

Beyond the immediate lighting project, the senatorial hopeful pledged to construct motorized boreholes to tackle water scarcity and grade critical rural farm-to-market roads, assuring that these legislative interventions will directly complement the infrastructural efforts of the Oyo State Government.

Reaffirming his commitment to fulfilling every campaign promise if elected to the Senate in 2027, Odidiomo emphasized that his brand of politics is anchored on tangible, community focused projects rather than mere political rhetoric.

Taking a sharp swipe at opposition political parties, Hon. Olajide Odidiomo urged the electorate across Ibarapaland to be vigilant and demand accountability from public officeholders. He cautioned residents against politicians who rely on money induced philanthropy and splash funds around during election cycles without delivering visible, federal backed developmental projects to their constituency.

Reassuring the people that public funds belong to the masses, Odidiomo charged voters to collect any money offered by politicians, while holding them accountable for their legislative stewardship.
“It is your money; collect it from them. They have done nothing tangible for you in the past few years than spending money up and down without projects or anything concrete to show for it at the federal level,” he added.

The meeting concluded with unanimous affirmations from APM leaders, who pledged total mobilization across the nine local government areas of Oyo South to deliver a landslide electoral victory for Odidiomo and the entire APM candidate lineup in the 2027 polls.
