Technology expert and management consultant, Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe on Wednesday appeared before the screening committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the party’s state secretariat, Molete Ibadan.
The committee, led by former Senate President Adolphus Wabara interacted with the Ibadan Mogaji and verified his documents earlier submitted. Members acknowledged the rich profile and communicated their delight at having Mogaji Tegbe joining the PDP and commended Governor Seyi Makinde for that strategic move. He was subsequently cleared to contest the Senatorial primaries.
This development is a major step towards Tegbe’s ambition to fly the flag of the PDP as the Senatorial candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District in the 2023 general elections.
Recall that Tegbe was earlier announced as the Consensus Candidate for Oyo South at an earlier fora convened by the Governor to foster interaction between aspirants and the party leaders. Tegbe emerged after the other aspirant, Dr. Nureni Adeniran agreed to step down from the race.
Following the withdrawal, which was endorsed by the Governor, party leaders and other stakeholders, the former All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial aspirant was endorsed and announced as the consensus Senatorial candidate.
