Prioritize Oke-Ogun for 2027 Governorship –  ÈgbĂ© ÀjosepĂČ FĂșn ÌtĂ©sĂwĂĄjĂș Gbogbo Wa Appeals to APC, PDP

A non-partisan socio-political movement, Egbe Ajosepo Fun Itesiwaju Gbogbo Wa, has issued a public appeal to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, urging both parties to consider fielding a candidate from the Oke-Ogun region for the 2027 gubernatorial elections.

The group, led by Chairman Engr. Dauda Alade Olaifa, emphasized the historical marginalization of the Okeogun and Ibarapa axes in Oyo State’s political landscape since the return to democratic rule in 1999.

In a statement released to the press, the group highlighted that no indigene from these regions has been granted the opportunity to hold the governorship position, with representation limited to “lesser positions.”

“We recognize and respect your unmatched influence in shaping the political landscape of our dear state. The truth must be told: without your endorsement, no political ambition can thrive,” stated Engr. Olaifa, addressing the leadership of the APC and PDP. “This is why we come to you with open hearts and a united voice from Oke-Ogun.”

The appeal specifically requests that both parties “jettison the idea of further marginalizing the Okeogun region” and focus on selecting a gubernatorial candidate from the area in the upcoming elections.

The group clarified that they are not seeking deputy governorship or party chairmanship roles, but rather the opportunity for Oke-Ogun to lead the state.

“Let 2027 mark the first time Okeogun produces a Governor. We assure you, it will not be a decision you will regret,” Engr. Olaifa asserted. “We have qualified, competent, and loyal party members spread across both parties who are ready to serve. We are united beyond religious, town, or gender lines, and we will stand firmly behind your chosen candidate from our region.”

The Egbe Ajosepo Fun Itesiwaju Gbogbo Wa underscored the region’s significance as the “agrarian heartland of Oyo State,” highlighting its strength, resilience and dedication.

They pledged an “unprecedented bloc vote” if given the opportunity to lead.
“Okeogun is not just ready, we are resolute,” the group affirmed.

“As the agrarian heartland of Oyo State, we represent strength, resilience, and dedication. If given this chance, we pledge an unprecedented bloc vote that will echo far beyond the next electoral cycle.”
With both parties preparing for their respective congresses, the group urged the leadership to “hear our voice” and “trust us.”

They concluded by stating, “Give Okeogun the governorship ticket, and you will find a dependable partner in progress.”
