Dr. Olusola Ayandele, a Chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State on Thursday, distributed food items worth N24 million to party leaders and 99 wards in Oyo South Senatorial District.
Ayandele told newsmen on Thursday in Ibadan, that the effort was to join party faithfuls in the celebration of Christmas and New Year.
Pacesetter news reports that among the items distributed were 500 bags of rice, 200 turkey, 200 chickens and cash gifts across the Senatorial district.
This platform understands that Oyo Senatorial District comprises nine local governments namely Ibadan South-West, Ibadan South-East, Ibadan North, Ibadan North-West, Ibadan North-East, Ido, Ibarapa Central, Ibarapa East and Ibarapa North.
The Senatorial hopeful said that the items were distributed across the wards to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and the New Year.
He said that the items and cash gifts totalling N24 million was distributed to leaders as well as members in the 99 wards irrespective of religious beliefs.
Ayandele said that the message of Christmas was that where there is hope, love, light and life, the plan and purpose of God will reach.
“This items distributed is to express my love and celebrate the goodness of God with everyone at this festive period,” he said.
