The Senate Chairman on Local Content and senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Oloye Teslim Folarin has congratulated Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu on his second term victory at the Saturday’s governorship election in the state.
Governor Akeredolu polled 292,830 votes to defeat his arch-rivals. Mr Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored 195,791 votes while Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) scored 69,127 votes.
In a congratulatory statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity- Com. YSO Olaniyi, Senator Folarin described Akeredolu’s victory as a well deserved reward for his purposeful leadership and the positive impact his administration has made on the lives of the Ondo State people.
The three-term Senator also hailed the Ondo State electorates for coming out en masse and for being bold and courageous in taking their electoral decisions based on critical evaluation of the ability, credibility and performance of Akeredolu in almost four years as Executive Governor of the Sunshine State.
Oloye Folarin gave kudos to the security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the peaceful and transparent conduct of the October 10 governorship elections. He, however, urged the commission to work on some lapses noticed during the election.
While charging Governor Akeredolu to always remember that the electorate expects unreserved commitment to good governance, he thanked the people of the state for the confidence reposed in the APC and its candidates. He therefore assured that they would not be disappointed.
The federal lawmaker concluded his statement by commending the state, Zonal and national leadership of the APC and other stakeholders who contributed immensely to the overwhelming success recorded at the polls.
