Soun of Ogbomoso: A genius, quintessential monarch is lost, a great loss to Yoruba race – Oyo OPC

O’dua People’s Congress, Oyo state chapter has described the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi Ajagungbade III, as a great loss to the Yoruba race.

The association, who mourned the passing of the foremost traditional ruler, described him as a genius and quintessential monarch.
Condolences were extended to the monarch’s immediate family, the people of Ogbomoso and the Oyo State Council of Obas.

In a statement made available to newsmen by the association’s chairman, Comrade Rotimi Olumo, quoted him as saying that Oba Oyewumi contributed immensely to the growth and development of Ogbomosoland.

He said that the monarch left his footprints on the sands of time.

“On behalf of the O’dua People’s Congress and my leader, Iba Gani Adams, I hereby express our heart-felt condolences to the immediate family of the departed monarch and the people of Ogbomosoland.

“I also commiserate with the Oyo State Council of Obas, which has lost a prominent member in person Oba Oyewumi”, Olumo said.
