The Society for Paediatrics and Adolescents Endocrinology in Nigeria (SPAEN) in Collaboration with Changing Diabetes in Children (CDIC) will on Monday 14, November 2022 hold a walk to live for the children living with diabetes mellitus.
Information made available to newsmen through the coordinator of the programme, Dr. Oluwakemi Ashubu disclosed that the event is schedule to hold from 7:00am.
It added that the 10 kilometre walk which is sponsored by the Changing Diabetes In Children (CDIC) group will involve children living with the diabetes mellitus, their parents and health care professionals managing them.
“The theme of the programme is Education to Protect Tomorrow and it is aimed at sensitizing the general public that children can also be diabetic
“Some people still believe that only the adults can have diabetes but research has shown that the ailment can also be found in children”, she said.
